Volunteering is always fashionable!
Suit Yourself is staffed entirely by volunteers making the role of "volunteer" vital to the success of the organization. Anyone interested in helping women succeed is welcome to apply to become a Suit Yourself volunteer. The volunteer opportunities are as diverse as the volunteers and the clients they serve. Volunteers may participate in any or all of the following activities:

Here's what our volunteers have to say about their Suit Yourself experiences:
2006 Volunteer of the Year
Edna Gardner pictured with Volunteer Coordinator, Midge Mramor.
A genuine desire to help others and a willingness to take on any task contributed to Edna Gardner being selected 2006 Volunteer of the Year. Edna suffered a broken knee in December 2005 that meant she was unable to stand for extended periods of time. But that didn't stop her! She continued attending work sessions, but instead of standing to sort clothing, she came with her shoe polishing kit from home, and while seated on a chair, began organizing and maintaining the Suit Yourself shoe inventory. Edna's infectious smile and warm, friendly demeanor help her provide exceptional customer service to our clients.
Arlene Dyckes, 2006 Volunteer of the Year
Selected Volunteer of the Year for her leadership skills and her contagious enthusiasm, Arlene has done everything from washing, ironing and sewing donated clothing to organizing the storage area for maximum efficiency. She pays attention to every little detail to ensure that we offer only the highest quality clothing to our clients to assist them in projecting a confident, professional image. She's organized, efficient, takes initiative and truly gives of herself to the benefit of Suit Yourself and its clients.
Board Member of the Year
Judy Church, 2003 to 2006
As a founding board member and officer, Judy helped form the foundation for Suit Yourself. She constantly finds ways to improve service to clients. Her passion and enthusiasm to serve women in transition is contagious. She inspires others and never waits to be asked to help. She has been blessed with a broad range of skills and has generously shared them with Suit Yourself. She is respected for her generosity and devotion to helping others, and her genuine concern for all people. Without Judy, the Suit Yourself organization would not be where it is today!

2007 Volunteer of the Year
Karen Hoover
The third volunteer to receive the prestigious Volunteer of the Year award, Karen earned the reputation of being a dedicated volunteer by eagerly agreeing to serve clients whenever she was needed. She equates appointments with clients to shopping with friends! Her sense of style and her ability to coordinate clothing are clearly reflected in the selections clients proudly take home.
